How to stay in shape while you are traveling

The art of yoga is an ancient form of exercise that has been practiced for over 5,000 years. Yoga provides a series of postures and yoga positions designed to stretch and strengthen the body. It also offers the opportunity for relaxation by focusing on breathing techniques. The word yoga derives from two Sanskrit words: yuj meaning “to control” or “to yoke”, and aga meaning “union” or “integration”. Yoga can be used as one method in which we can develop our spiritual side by practicing yoga with devotion; it is said that yoga will lead us to moksha (enlightenment). Some people use yoga as a form of meditation because yogic postures help to focus the mind.

The yoga postures or poses are some of the most important aspects of yoga, and they are designed to stretch and tone the body. There are many different yoga poses that can be tailored to meet a person’s specific needs. Yoga is often recommended for people with back problems, neck pain, and other chronic conditions because it helps to stretch and strengthen the muscles while promoting relaxation. In addition, yoga is often used as a form of rehabilitation after an injury. The yoga poses also help improve balance and coordination.

The best part about yoga is that it can be done anywhere - even in a small hotel room. All you need is a yoga mat or some type of soft surface on which to practice. In addition, yoga can be practiced by people of all ages. Kids can also participate in yoga, and there are many yoga poses that are perfect for them.

If you're traveling with kids, (that's what I had this weekend) there are plenty of yoga poses that they can do, too. Here are a few fun yoga poses for kids to do while traveling:

The Happy Baby Pose: This pose is perfect for new yoga students or young children. To do the Happy Baby Pose, lie on your back and hug your knees into your chest. Rock from side to side and allow your baby (or child) to rest their head on your knees.

Extend your right arm straight up in the air and turn your head to look up at your hand. Bend your left knee and sink down into a lunge position. Hold this pose for 5-10 breaths, then switch sides.

  • Increased flexibility in the hips and shoulders with enhanced stability.

  • Toned abdominal organs.

  • Ability to face life with an open heart.

  • Increased strength in legs, and back.

  • Increased strength in your ankles.

  • Relieved back pain and sciatica.

The Triangle Pose: The Triangle Pose is a yoga pose that stretches the hamstrings, groin, and chest. It also strengthens the legs and spine. To do the Triangle Pose, stand with your feet 3-4 feet apart and extend your arms out to the sides at shoulder height. Turn your right foot out 90 degrees and your left foot in 45 degrees. Sink down into a deep lunge position and extend your right arm straight up towards the ceiling. Reach your left arm towards the floor as you tilt your torso towards the right.
